Top Best free-to-play FPS Games of PC in 2019

best fps and battle royale games of 2019

Who doesn't love free games? Android, iOS, Xbox, PlayStation have their own store where we can find lots of free games but in case of PC, we can find most of the free games in steam and epic store.
First Person Shooter is itself is a big genre. Although most of the free games are pay-to-win type but there are some games that are free forever and you can fully enjoy and win the game even without paying. Today we're listing some of these games I personally played and tested.

As usual, they'll be in random order.

1. Ring of Elysium

ROE download

If you're a gamer I bet you're familiar with battle royale genre and PUBG. Ring of Elysium is made by Tencent the same company that made PUBG MOBILE. The plot of the normal mode is similar to other games just in the end surviving players(<= 4) are rescued by a helicopter. In normal mode you play ina green island with lots of houses, in the event mode the island is a place filled with snow. The most unique thing about this game is it gives you various player abilities like BMX bike, glider, grappling hook like in attack in titan anime, skateboard which is AWESOME, and I can guarantee that you will definitely enjoy riding them. You can choose abilities in the starting of every game. This game doesn't have a parachute jumping in the start, instead, you can select the exact spot you want to be spawned and you will spawn with a gun and your favorite ability. Although it is a free game, it is very addictive. Often updated, so fewer hackers.

FAQ

Pay-to-win: NO, you only pay for clothes, skins etc.
Graphics: Good.
PC spec: To run at smooth 60+ fps you need some bad*ss graphics card. As of now, I have only seen it running smoothly on Shroud's Livestream, even my mid-range 750ti drops frame here and there.
Weapon Mechanics: Not impressed me.

2. Realm Royale

realm royale download

It's a Fortnite-ish fantasy battle royale game. There are 4 different types of class with different types of abilities and powers. You can even loot crates when playing a game to change or acquire a new ability or power or forge them. Like ROE there is also a pet horse/ dinosaur which you can mount anytime in the game. Most interesting and funny thing is if a player knocks you out in a game, you turn into a cute chicken which can run with high speeds so you can flee from the enemy and go near your team players so that they can defend you. After some time you will respawn from that chicken. It's a very interesting game to look into. It's in beta so you may notice bugs here and there.

FAQ

Pay-to-win: NO, you only pay for clothes, skins etc. Currently, you can buy everything with in-game money.
Graphics: Looks like fortnite. But the game package is smaller in Gb's.
PC spec: Based on the Unreal engine. Even a potato PC can run it at 60+ fps.
Weapon Mechanics: Not impressed me.

3. Warface

warface review 2019

This game is probably one of the most addictive games. I've been obsessed with this game for so long time. This game is based on Crytek, so, the graphics are amazing. To minimize the ping there are many servers to play on, even it has a dedicated Russian version with Russian server. This game has some good PvE maps, some long length PvE or 'Special Operations(spec. ops.)' and PvP mode consisting of various modes like, 'plant the bomb', 'battle royale', 'domination', 'free for all' etc. Each of these modes is very addictive. Playing and winning games will give game money reward which can be used to upgrade gears or buy weapons for a limited time. To buy a weapon permanently you have to use real money and luck. Warface has a good number of hackers and bugs but they're fixed from time to time.

FAQ

Pay-to-win: YES.
Graphics: Awesome and optimized
PC spec: A mid-range graphics card can run at smooth 60+ fps. Ryzen laptops will run but will lag on IntelHD.
Weapon Mechanics: You can really feel the weapon recoil. It's realistic.

4. Black Squad

black squad review

This FPS is much like CS:GO. The weapon mechanics are lot better though. The best thing about this game is all the weapons can be purchased from the in-game money. That's what they also boast about in their stream description. Though, skins have to be bought with real money. Overall this is a very interesting game with various game modes including PvP and PvE rooms.

FAQ

Pay-to-win: NO, you only pay for skins, DLC.
Graphics: Awesome and optimized
PC spec: mid-range PC can run it with more than 120+ fps. It will run smoothly in Ryzen laptops and IntelHD as well.
Weapon Mechanics:
The sound effects when you kill someone is really satisfying 🌚

5. Tencent gaming buddy

tencent gaming buddy review

It may look a little weird to add an android game into this list but this game has it's reasons. Gaming buddy is actually an android emulator to play PUBG MOBILE, it was also developed by Tencent. It gives the paid PUBG like experience in a small free package. In pubg, there is an island where 100 players including you will enter through skydiving with a parachute. You have to loot houses or dead players to find weapons and have to survive till the end by either killing other players or being hidden. You can either play solo or duo or with a 4 player squad. You can play this game on any emulator but the best thing about this emulator is, controls are optimized greatly for PC keyboard and mouse.

FAQ

Pay-to-win: NO, you only pay for skins and costumes.
Graphics: Average comparing with paid PUBG.
PC spec: Really depends upon your processor and ram. Mid-range pc's and Ryzen laptops can run it in HD 60+ fps. If it lags you can always choose low graphics to make it smooth.
Weapon Mechanics:
Realistic like the original PUBG experience.

6. PUBG lite

pubg lite pc download

PUBG Lite is a lightweight and slimmed-down version of the popular paid battle royale PC game PUBG. It was first launched in October 2018 as PUBG Project Thai and was available only in Thailand for alpha testing with invite-only basis. Until recently it's renamed PUBG lite and made available to anyone in Thailand. The game remains same though, 100 players dropped in an island (currently only erangel map), grab some loots and fight till only one is left.
But here's the catch, you can't download /play it without a VPN with Thailand server location which, in turn, increases your ping to an unplayable state. Also, this game is in beta stage so, bugs will be imminent. So I would not recommend playing it right now, wait for the worldwide release.

FAQ

Pay-to-win: NO, you only pay for skins and costumes.
Graphics: Looks a lot like original PUBG but with low-quality textures.
PC spec: Optimized for playing in low-end PC's, even with onboard graphics. So Ryzen Laptops and IntelHD should play it fine.
Weapon Mechanics:
Realistic like the original PUBG experience.
